Working visit CLINSH vessel ‘Mon-Desir’

Working visit CLINSH vessel ‘Mon-Desir’

CLINSH ambassador Rik Janssen paid a visit to Els and Tom Bosman, skippers of the ‘Mon-Desir’. This is one of the vessels within the reference group of the CLINSH programme. There were no modifications made to the engine of the ‘Mon-Desir’, but it now uses the cleaner fuel GTL (Gas to Liquid).

“What’s the secret behind CLINSH? It’s the human factor”, says Janssen. “Our skippers are the front runners heading for sustainable inland shipping. They collect the data that we need to help others contribute to a greener future. For me, it is important to meet the CLINSH skippers on a regular base. I would like to thank Els and Tom Bosman for their hospitality, and for sharing their latest views and experiences with me.”

Midterm conference

The skippers of the ‘Mon-Desir’ will also attend the CLINSH midterm conference in Brussels on 13 March. Representatives from the inland shipping sector, from European and national governments, investors and shippers will meet there and discuss the first resultas of the CLINSH programme. Also, they will look forward to decide upon the next steps towards green inland shipping.
